Earning via Content Writing

Journals for writingImage by avrdreamer via FlickrEarning via Content Writing
By Vivek Sharmaa

Advent of internet gave the new and improved meaning to content writing. Or we can say it redefined the writing for web completely. But literally content writing means changing and adapting your writing style according to the user's needs and requirements. Content writing should be done to match a specific style or voice. And to be more precise web content writing has nothing do with your own personal taste or style preference. In other words, you are forced to learn and write in a style that may be an alien to you. Still if content writing is your full-time profession then you have no choice but to proceed with that only.

With the changing time content writing has become an important part of any website. Now people give equal and more attention to content writing as well, because they have realized that it's the content that sells and attracts. But to be honest content writing isn't that lucrative because you are typically paid less than a magazine article. Apart from that you have to change your writing style and furthermore, your name is also not associated with the content when it appears on the web. This is very frustrating and dejected situation but if you are a content writer and content writing is your way of earning then you have to adjust with this situation.

But if content writing has disadvantages, it also got it share of advantages as well. The most positive and striking part of web content writing is that, the article can be written in a short period of time and that too with a simple research. Moreover, content writers also get the golden chance of knowing new subjects and also learning new styles of writing. Apart from that it's a continuous job, as currently website owners heavily rely on fresh content from time to time and that too enriched with keywords or phrases assisting them in a higher ranking in all major search engines.

Good news is that, if you are determined to enter into content writing, then many opportunities are waiting for you. There are various freelance content writing bidding sites where you can offer your writing services by bidding on writing jobs. But you'll be amazed to know that content writing in India is getting very popular.
Thus, if you are determined in getting your career in content writing, then just get some writing work and begin with that. But before accepting any content writing project just make sure that you can complete it within the stipulated time and deadline.

Why Web Custom Content Writing is Suffering

By JD Dunner

We all know that, when it comes to the internet, content is king. Content is what draws new customers or readers in, and content is what keeps them coming back. Having great photographs and digital presentations is absolutely fine, and may help your site to be a bit more popular, but content is the first thing that they'll see. Think of the content that you have on your website like an introduction. Whenever you have an introduction you want to make the best impression. The content that you have on your page is the introduction, and if you make a bad impression, you're not likely to receive new visitors, or to keep people coming back to your site. And yet content writing is suffering on the internet. Now, more than ever before, web content writing seems to be going downhill. Why is this happening?

It's a given that not everybody is able to do web content writing well. Many business owners know that they're not great at manipulating the written word, and so they look to outsource their content writing needs to someone who is much better at wording than they are. If you type in the phrase "web content writer" or "web content writing" in a search engine, you'll return thousands of results. Take a second look and you'll see that a large majority of the web content writers that you'll find online live in a place where English is not the first language.

That shouldn't be a bit deal, though, should it? Look at most of the products in your home and you'll see that they're made in China or Japan, so why should you avoid hiring web content writers who live in the Middle East or Africa? Because they can't provide the same type of high quality content that someone who speaks English can. People who speak English as a second language are never quite able to grasp the way the words move and flow together, just as someone who was taught English as a first language would never be able to write great content for a company that resides in France, even if they knew how to speak French.

If the content writing that you get when you outsource to someone who doesn't speak English regularly is so poor, you may wonder why businesses continue to keep using their services. The main reason is because they are less expensive. These companies can afford to charge pennies for their content, which makes it easy on your wallet, but not on your website. Having articles that are poor in quality is never a good idea, and while you may save money on outsourcing the content writing to someone from another country initially, you're much more likely to lose potential business due to the poor web content writing you'll receive.

This doesn't mean that you can't outsource your content writing, it just means that when you do, make sure that you look for a company that has writers who reside in a country where English is the first language, so that you'll be able to get high quality content that will impress new visitors and that will also keep your visitors coming back for more.

SEO Copy Writing

A few years ago no one knew what the acronym SEO stood for. Now anyone who has a business website online has heard of SEO and knows what it's all about. SEO copy writing is all about ensuring that you get content that is filled with keywords that are relative to your business. But people are making a huge mistake. They believe that it SEO is simply about stuffing as many keywords as you can fit into the articles that you have on your site. This is a very big mistake.

The Right Content

Stuff as many keywords as you can into your content and you'll quickly find that you're not doing yourself any favors. Most people believe that the more keywords you have in the content on your website, the more likely you will be to get a hit off of a search engine. But good SEO copy writers know that using SEO in your content has much more to do with the type of content that you're providing, and the quality of it, than it does the amount of times you're able to stuff your keywords into the content.

There is at trick to really great SEO copywriting that only the experts know. That trick is to put a good percentage of SEO keywords into the content that you've written, but to make it so that the keywords slide seamlessly into the content, so that the person who is reading the content has no idea that there are any keywords there. And you do this by creating high quality content. Content that visitors to your website are going to want to read, and content that is much more lkely to get picked up by other blogs.

Going Viral

The phrase "viral" means that something has become very popular on the internet - so popular that everyone is passing it around to their friends to see or read. Content that is simply stuffed with keywords will never be viral. It takes great content, content that has value to it, in order for your content to become viral.

It's also important to note that if you try to submit badly written SEO articles to a website like, your content will likely be rejected. This is because they only accept content that has real value to it.

What is the most important when it comes to SEO copywriting is to focus more on the type of content that you're putting out there than how many keywords you can stuff into it, and that is not something that is easily accomplished, which is why many people look to experienced SEO copy writers to help them to achieve high quality content that is also keyword rich.

The Power of Custom Content on Blogs

Blogs are now one of the greatest ways to make money on the internet.  Putting custom content on those blogs is what makes them succesfull.  You just can't throw re-hashed articles on your blog or pull other people's work from the internet and hope to pull in traffic or have any kind of legitimacy.

There's a website right now that is putting out legit, custom content and doing pretty well for itself.  Blogging For Dads is a relatively new site that aims at helping work at home dads find work, be wary of scams and offers great motivational advice.

Despite the sharp layout, the free blogging eBook and limited advertising on the site it has one thing that is moving it further and further up the search engine results pages-custom content.  The admin is a blogger, there is no doubt about that.  If you subscribe you can usually count on getting a new post a day, at the least you're getting fresh articles about 5 times a week.

Blogging For Dads is still relatively small but if the site keeps up these kinds of statistics and work ethic then it is sure to gain some popularity in a relatively crowded niche.

I advise you to read the articles and find out what custom content looks like.  Custom content has a few characteristics that are necessary:

  • Always Unique
  • Fresh, personal expercience
  • Genuine perspective
  • Authority
  • Not re-hashed.
Check it out for yourself!

Custom Business Content Depends On Keyword Research

Grab the bull by the horns with your Keyword Research
If you have a website for your business, then you should think about conducting keyword research on a regular basis to ensure that you are using the best keywords to draw in website traffic. Using keyword research effectively will help your website be ranked higher with Google and other search engines, putting you on the first few pages of search results, if not the first page. The higher your website ranks, the better chances you have of increased traffic.

Content For Hire: Who Should You Choose For Your Business' Custom Content

Where do you get "quality content?"
It's difficult, I know. Type in the words "affordable content writer" or "professional content writing services" into Google, and the page blazes like the bathroom after a two-day vacation in Tijuana with only table water to drink. Top links, sponsored links, "affordable", "cheap" "the best"…they all call out to you. Well, that's what you're looking for right? So how do you choose? And, which ones are really "professional" and not "well, I have a website" or "affordable" and not "low quality".

Blog Post Layout: Creating Searchable Website Content (Part 2)

A lot of people who don't understand the way web crawlers work to determine what a website or page is about will cram or stuff keywords all throughout a post or site and think that's gonna' do the job.
But that isn't the real error. The real error is that they should know how human operate (themselves being amongst the human race) and what it would look like to the reader to see a keyword used 12 times inside of a 200 word blog post or article.  Welcome to the second installment of this series!

Keywords: Creating Searchable Website Content (Part 1)

Let's just get out in the open right now:  Playing to the Google Bot or other search engine crawler is OKAY as long as you're doing it with honest intentions.  Those honest intentions may be to provide quality information on a subject, offer your goods and/or services, or just to be read because you need the attention.  That's all fine, homey or homette.

However, if you are writing ONLY for the search engines in an attempt to drive traffic to your site and upon arrival you have poorly written content, a sloppy page, zero media, and your only intent is to gain more and more views—then that is NOT OKAY.  And to be honest, people are gonna' figure you out real quick anyway and it will most likely result in few repeat visits AND YOUR COMPLETE AND UTTER DEMISE!

As companies are becoming more reliant on the internet to generate new business, many of them are using keyword-enhanced blog content to gain advantage over their competitors.

Adding a blog to your company's website is an effective method of appealing to new clients, however, it is vital that you pay attention to the quality of your blog content. Indiscriminately smattering your blog with words and phrases designed for the sole purpose of increasing web traffic is condescending to potential clients and can cause search engines to blacklist your site. In order to generate business with your blog, you should do your best to provide your audience with articulate and informative posts.

Incite Interest With Link Building And Social Media

With a new online business whether it is a website or a blog the task of getting the word out is never more important than it is at the moment. Without adequate promotion there will be little chance that your Internet presence will be successful.

The Social Benefits Of Social Media

While there are several opportunities to draw attention to your site one of the easiest is through social media options like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, in fact some have actually gotten good results from You-tube as a media option.

It is extremely easy to build a buzz about your website on Facebook especially if you turn to the wall as a method of promoting yourself. Everyone reads the wall and if someone makes a comment on your wall pertaining to the fact that they plan to or have already visited your site, follow through with a thank you by taking it to their wall, this will also allow their friends to follow you and maybe even check out your site while they are at it.

Fresh, relevant content is what drives internet traffic to legitimate websites and blogs that provide valuable and interesting information to readers. Now, more than ever, the presence of high quality content written in a professional manner is critical for a blog or website to be seen by search engines. With recent algorithmic changes to the world’s most visited search engine, webmasters and blog publishers must ensure that the content that is presented on their internet site meets stringent quality standards and is composed by person who understands the complicated dynamic of search engine optimization. Many are turning to a specific breed of freelance writers who specialize in composing reasonably priced internet content and material to website and blog owners. The benefits of utilizing the services of a freelance content writer are many. A few of the most beneficial aspects are discussed below.

Press Release: Muisings Freelance Writing FREE "Quick Guide" Series

Muisings "Quick Guide" #1:  Keyword Research and Usage

You can download our first of many free "Quick Guides" here!

Start Your Website Campaign NOW!

A business website or a person's blog needs rich content that is original.  I 'm pretty sure that you've probably read a couple of articles, blogs, and advertisements that say that same exact thing.  Usually, from what I have seen though, the same people don't effectively explain why that is so important.

Good Content entices a call to action

We've all had the same experience so let's just use a simple example.  Try typing the words "coloring pages" into your search engine.   The first few that come up are going to advertise the word "free" and that's always good for websites and businesses.  Offer something for a person's time, or just as a thank you for stopping by, and they are sure to thank you by staying longer, reading more, and buying your service.

Likewise, content that is written by effective, experienced writers will have several "calls to action" within its text.  These could be subtle innuendo ("free" or "30% off" say come on in and buy!)  or blatant "buy now" or "call toll free now for this limited time offer!" additions in the text.  Either way the content should let the visitor know what is being offered, present an easy way to access it, and call for further action with passion.

This "call to action" should say "we are trying to help you!" and NOT  "come buy our stuff!"

Offering packets of advice or "expert, inside" knowledge such as "Quick Guides" or white papers will ignite curiosity, establish a trust in the business, and lay a foundation for a future relationship.

Good Content Sets You Apart

The more original and unique the content provided then the more a visitor or reader is apt to read.  People who post articles that have been all over the web are just recycling the same old information.  How many times have you queried a search and read about 10 sites that have basically the same information but just in a different font?

By providing your site and business pages with original content that is new to reader or visitor you are more apt to entice their interest and leave them feeling that your site was more useful than the others because they actually learned something from you.

Which sounds more interesting to you?
 Apple Pie Recipes

New England McIntosh Apples:  Build the Perfect Pie

Personally, I'd have to go with the second but you'd be surprised at how many people use bland, regurgitated information to try to seduce viewers.

How does Good Content Improve Your Business

Combining the two methods above will ensure a richer experience for the site visitor and they will be more apt to bookmark your page, add it to "favorites" and/or share it with friends.

Giving control of your website to a professional content writer that is experienced in website optimization for internet searches AND getting people to buy and click can ensure your success.
Content writers may also do the following for you:

Keyword Research:

Set you apart from your competitors

Proof read your site for accuracy and effectiveness:

This is paramount in ensuring consistency with whatever campaign you're starting.

Create "free" content:

I like a "Quick Guide" format but white papers and e-books work as   well.  This gives the interested party an added incentive to "click" to your page.

Develop the Content:

Landing pages with high quality articles and blog posts that rich in the desired keyword start answering questions right away!

Construct a press release and a link building campaign:

Distributed to sites that will get it read and pushed out around the web and bring more interest and visitors.

Start a Social Media Campaign:

Advertise and solicit your site to the huge populations of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIN and the bunch.

Click Me? Click You!

Search Engine Optimization(SEO): Is it that important?

Sure, there is no "key" to success but search engine optimization can play a vital role in the level of success in a small business or blog. Attractive websites and awesome Facebook pages are only good if people are looking at them and finding them helpful.

Online marketing of your brand, blog or business is important  . The use of articles and posts by good content writers is a huge business booster.  Social media is King right now. Effective writing with effective writing techniques that are full of great content and geared towards specified markets will make or break your site.

Choosing Content Is Like Painting a Room

It really is.  There are so many similarities that it is kind of uncanny but it's true. Deciding to paint a room in your home or apartment and deciding what kind of content you want on your site require many of the same decisions that are made (or not) when choosing good content.

Content Copywriting - What Is a Content Writer

The following is an article I wrote for Ezines:

By Ken Muise

I guess it's a good question. Content writer, copy writer, ghost writer, article writer, and blog writer are all very common terms used today. Chances are that ten years ago you might not receive this type of question. With the huge rise in internet marketing, blog "stores", and regular old business websites it seems that everyone wants their very own. They are professionals, after all, true subject matter experts in producing written products that are particularly efficient for the internet.

Why Hire an Independent Freelancer Instead of A Content Mill?

First, I guess, we should define what a content mill is.

A content mill, or writing mill, is a slang term used by those in the freelance writing world to describe a company or website that provides very cheap website content.  How much of a profit they make off of this and how low the pay is for the writers is a topic of some debate.  Heated debate, at that!

Notice, I used the word "cheap" and not "affordable".  Heck, I use the word affordable here in my services.  Cheap, though, is cheap.  No other way around it.  You get what you pay for.  Why should you care, though?  Let's poke a little at the 3 main reasons.
